Basic Concept:
Student's Business is a patent pending system designed to trade predictable work experience from local businesses, or Chamber of Commerce members, for real-time education for students.
Once fully implemented the system is designed so that students can easily place an entire city online as a single aggregated group of businesses. Once completed, the entire participating business community are now suppliers for all fundraising programs. The school earns 10% or more of the selling price (set by business owner) of all items or services sold through this community.
The real opportunity for the school is having a dependable recurring revenue stream from web services provided to local business owners. Businesses who sign up pay approximately 27 CENTS a day for students to setup an extensive array of web services, manage and host a significant online advertising program, and provide outstanding support on an ongoing basis to each business. Students Business provides a toll free support line and online helpdesk to help, and make modifications for free to participating businesses.
Recurring fundraising revenues are generated from web services and 100% of commissions earned on items and services sold through this marketplace will go straight into the schools many fundraising programs. The many values provided to participating businesses are so significant for the price, it’s expected most businesses will eagerly renew their participation year-after-year.
Once the school has completed the setup of participating businesses online advertising systems, it is turned over to the business owner for easy updates or use the toll free support center to make minor adjustments at no cost.
Here is a quick overview:
Community is placed online by selected students trained in this program who are matched to member businesses as part of the school's work experience program.
Now the community has thousands and thousands of items and services online bringing significant traffic to the local area from search engines, and through the community directory.
Visitors may view individual student businesses, booster club fundraising store, online coupon books, and search by individual items or services.
Now:
The community grows because other business owners want to participate in the marketing and advertising system where development of their online sales systems are handled for them by students.
Participants are helping the overall community prosper.
Students are winners because they have there own portal where they fundraise and offer their own presentation of services or abilities. They can use their portal to demonstrate to universities for entrance, or add video for a talent scout to help them get on a football team, show their merchandising skills, secure a scholarship, and much more.
Student System Features:
- Sell your own items or services ie: tutoring, website development, car detailing, artwork, pet sitting, yard work, snow removal, building local businesses online catalogs, selling used video games, and much more.
- Market existing member business merchandise and services. Anything they now offer for sale within their Chamber of Commerce marketplace is available to you for re-sale in your own business.
- Invite Vendors electronically when you want to carry something in your business, but it's not available through local Chamber Member businesses.
- Accept "VOTES" from the public on each item presented. This helps you determine what other people think about items and services in your business catalog.
- Monitor visitor habits what do they view, what do they click on, what do they buy and more.
- Present items or services in various formats marking items as for sale, on sale, book reservation, book appointment, Internet coupon, inquiry, and do not display.
- Business Advertised by Chambers of Commerce typically rank high on Google and other major search engines. By having your business connected to the Chambers you will grab a portion of this traffic. This means thousands of item views.
- Add Videos to your individual items and services by a simple upload of a videos "Embeded Code" using YouTube.com or Video.Google.com
Work Experience:
- This is REAL Businesses Operated by Students that help market entire Towns, Cities, Counties and maybe even Countries in the future?
- Students may track fundraising progress, sales (i.e. orders delivered directly to Chamber Member businesses), individual item / service interest votes, and item popularity reporting.
- The Chamber can provide reports to students who contact them on what people are searching for and NOT finding. This is designed for students who want clues on how to build an even more popular online business.
- A student who intends to leverage the system to its fullest can showcase their own talents, or services like athletic ability for scouts to see (with video), tutoring services, baby sitting, lawn mowing, car washing, snow clearing, data entry, software development, website development, selling used X-Box games, etc.
- A student that just wants to have fun with the system may open their business by simply adding items from the STUDENTS GALLERY which is automatically loaded with the items or services now available through the Chamber's marketplace. They may customize their entry page in pure HTML, or use a powerful default wizard that will build the web-page (front door to business) for them, add their comments to the items they are selling and then see how many are coming in and looking around. This is a terrific way to practice online merchandising skills.
- To increase awareness of their online business, owners may invite people into their business by entering email addresses, or connecting links to their online business within their various online social networks, and even to students in other schools using the this system.
- Owners will be prompted to view products or services added to the gallery by Chamber Member businesses. The items and services seen by the student are from the businesses they selected during signup. A maximum of 3 local businesses are allowed for each student, but if the student does a nice job the Chamber may increase this up to a total of 10.
- In-school participant network allows students to ask other student businesses to carry their merchandise or services in their catalogs. This is done with our partnership communication system from Google. This system includes a special email address studentname@studentsbusiness.com, and a student-to-student chat system also provided by Google specifically for StudentsBusiness.Com participants.
- Owners may display a custom HTML front door to their business along with a "conservative" business picture of themselves.
- Owners are able to name their online business and catalog, add custom descriptions, or comments about the items they carry even beyond descriptions provided in advance by the merchants or service companies.
Fundraising Program Built-in:
If the student's have gone digital shouldn't the local fundraising programs also begin to move that way? A complete digital fundraising infrastructure is included with every Students Business system. It's designed to help the community, local business, and it also promotes the Student's business via the connection to the Chamber of Commerce.
Finally, a single online location where fundraising projects can be easily setup, displayed, and marketed by students throughout the entire community. With our exclusive "Circle of Security" it’s a safe and secure online environment for students and schools.
Fundraising Money Collection:
The system is stocked with merchandise and services now found at participating Chambers of Commerce marketplaces. Major fundraiser's in the area may become a member of the Chamber and have their very own catalog of items and services that the students can also promote. We expect students to be anxious to show off their new business to relatives, friends and even through various online social groups they belong to which will help expand the potential sales for the fundraiser and the student.
When students sign up for an account, they will be prompted to select up to three participating Chamber member businesses to showcase, and the single fundraiser they want to represent. Anything sold through the students business that came from a Chamber of Commerce business will be subject to a 10% commission for the fundraiser of the student’s choice up to a maximum of $30. If it is a professional service, and they receive a qualified referral through the students business, the donation request from the Chamber to their member will be $20 +/- depending on what they agree to donate based on the value of the referral.
The Chamber of Commerce will have a record of all transactions and will be able to collect the funds for the fundraiser from Chamber businesses who received the orders through various student businesses. If it is a catalog that sells fundraiser goods directly by your group, all proceeds are collected by you. It’s a perfect model to expand fundraising efforts by leveraging the Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Marketplace, www.StudentsBusiness.com, and the Internet. Many students will send links to friends and family that should result in additional revenue and healthy promotion for you and local business.
